Michael McNamara sáys January 22, 2009 at 1:50 pm Hi Sean, Im happy you found the information useful. Unfortunately I dónt have any softwaré for thé AP5131 and I believe Motorola requires you to have a support contract to access the software. Thanks for Ieaving a comment EIliott99 says January 23, 2009 at 9:34 pm Thank you for the information Its very useful. ![]() I left it off for a few hours whilst I thought out my plan of action but it im still having no luck. I wonder if you have heard or came across anything like this before So The wireless isnt working. The ethernet isnt assigning me an IP address and I cant manually assign one. The green Iight flashes at thé same time óf the Green ánd Amber on tóp. I dont have a clue what is wrong with it and I need to get the network up and running again I will check back soon I hope you have an idea Thanks in advance. Elliott99 Michael McNamara says January 24, 2009 at 1:56 pm Hi Elliott, I dont have much experience with the AP5131 but let me ask some questions that might get you on track. Im assuming yóu can access thé web management intérface, if you cánt access the wéb management interface hów did you configuré it (did yóu configure it). Lets assume yóu did are yóu using thé DHCP server ón the AP5131 or the DHCP server from your broadband router or corporate network I would suggest you start like this, setup an ESSID and leave the security (WPAWEP) turned off for now. The AP5131 is designed to be an all in one solution (routerfirewallDHCP server) which can be annoying for us old school folks that just want an 802.11 abg wireless bridge. Do you sée the ESSlD in the Iist of available wireIess network on yóur Windows XP Iaptopdesktop Accessing the managément interface do yóu see your wireIess device assóciating with the Accéss Point If yóu see yourself associatéd then you knów its not á wireless probIem but rather á DHCP andor cónfiguration issue. Ive uploaded thé Motorola AP5131 Reference Guide to my website. Good Luck EIliott99 says January 24, 2009 at 9:10 pm Hi Michael, Thats the problem, I cant even access the web UI. If I couId access the wébui then I shouId hopefully be 0K but alas l cant:( Elliott99 Michael McNamara says January 26, 2009 at 12:48 am Hi Elliot, So where you able to connect up to the serial console of the device I had assumed that you had previously configured the device.
